How to: The Side Wrap Braid

While we hate to admit it, braids can get boring. If your expertise in this department ends with a simple three-strand weave, it's time to upgrade your braid game ... BIG TIME. And if the double fishtail bun is a little too complicated for ya, we've got something pretty we know you can master! This side wrap braid combines two of our favorite hair features in one - a Dutch braid and PLENTY of volume. Here's how to land the look!

1. Curl your hair with a 3/4-inch or 1-inch curling iron by wrapping your hair in sections around the barrel.

2. Spray L'Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray all over for fullness and directly onto roots. Tease hair with a teasing comb and lightly lift your roots with the tail-end of the comb.

3. Gently brush out curls for soft waves and spritz a lightweight hold hairspray like Redken Fashion Work 12 Versatile Hairspray over your hair.

4. Start an inverted or "inside out" braid from the side of your hair part and braid downward until you reach the nape of your neck. Tie hair at the base of your neck with a clear elastic band - then tuck loose hair underneath and secure it with a bobby pin. This creates a braid on one side of your head, while still maintaining volume on the other!

5. Spread the pleats of your braid to create a thicker look, then spray your new style with hairspray once again. Tease the remaining hair in sections and brush it out to get more bounce and volume!
