Your Ultimate Guide to Marsala Nails

There's perhaps no easier or more obvious place to try marsala, Pantone's 2015 Color of the Year, than on nails. A rich, dusty-red color inspired by an Italian wine, it's a new way to update our favorite red and burgundy nail looks.

A few of our favorite polishes in this color are Giorgio Armani Beauty Nail Lacquer in Scarlatto, Lancôme Vernis in Love in Madame Tulipe, Essie in Bordeaux or In Stitches, and NYX Cosmetics NYX Girls Nail Polish in Red Noir.

To go for a retro glam look, try this color as a half-moon manicure, and leave the moons clear. Or, for a modern update, go for a brighter pink contrast with your moon. One fun combination is YSL La Laque Couture in Sepia 7E Art, a deeper purple, paired with the gorgeous Rouge Pablo.

Marsala nails also look nice in a pearlescent finish. Try NYX Cosmetics NYX Girls Nail Polish in Genesis for a pretty, pearly red.

Marsala looks especially good with golden tones, so try pairing something like Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer in Wine And Forever, with Gilded Rose as an accent nail or stripe.
