Beautiful Garden Wedding Day in Salt Lake City

via

Happy Monday guys! Did you have a fun Valentine's weekend? Last week was all about the romance here on the blog, and we're keeping it going today too, with this gorgeous garden wedding.

Kate and Carter married in Garden Park, Salt Lake City, and their flower-filled wedding and dreamy bridal session with (the super talented) Mary Claire Photography, are so elegant, so chic, and so beautiful, we just can't wait for you to see the pictures!

Fresh, youthful and timeless, we just adore this bridal party's style. It's like something out of a magazine!

Kate wore a simple, yet stunning custom gown with a jewel neckline and short sleeves, Carter looked so dapper in a check shirt, navy suit, and jaunty bow ties for him and the gents, and the bridesmaids were pretty in pink, with chic short shifts.

Add some snow cones, French crepes, an abundance of blooms and dancing until dark, and this sweet, fun, gorgeous wedding day is brimming with inspiration...

Wedding Day Snapshot

In Three Words

Classy, Elegant, Simple

The Flowers

My wedding bouquet had ranunculus, English garden rose, Anemone, and Hypericum berries. The flowers were different shades of pink with some creamy white flowers mixed in too. The groom had a white ranunculus. The bridesmaids had white hydrangeas and the groomsmen had a pink ranunculus. The centerpieces were pink hydrangeas. I also had some bigger centerpieces that had snap dragons, hydrangeas, English garden rose, and baby's breath. There were also centerpieces that looked similar to my bouquet.

The Dresses

I wore a custom made dress (by Nancy Barrus Couture). I wanted something that was timeless and that I could look back on years later and still love. I chose a simple, classic, ball gown with beading around the neck so I did not have to worry about any jewelry. My dad is known for his bow tie collection and my husband and the groomsmen all sported bow ties. Carter was dashing in his Hugo Boss suit and blue checked shirt. I also chose something for my bridesmaids that went well with my dress and was also a classic look. My Aunt commented that the bridesmaid dresses were such a classic that they were similar in color and style to the bridesmaid dress she wore at my grandmother's wedding 60 years ago.

Favourite Moments

One of my favorite moments were having all my best friends as bridesmaids and all being together again. It really made my day special to have them there by my side.

The Colours

I wanted my wedding to be classy and elegant so I chose navy, pale pink, and gold as my colors. I thought they looked simple but still elegant.

The Photography

I chose my photographer because she is an amazing photographer and also happens to be a good family friend of ours. I knew she would do an amazing job capturing our special day and I already felt so comfortable around her because we have spent so much time together. Our videographers are also family friends and I knew that they did a great job and would be perfect for doing our video.

The Refreshments

Instead of serving dinner at our reception we decided to have desserts. I have lived several times in France so crepes were a natural choice to serve at the reception. We had fresh fruit and a crepe bar. My husband and I also love snow cones/shaved ice, which we thought would be fun for a summer wedding and would cool everyone down on a hot August night. My aunt made a fabulous classic cake that we decorated with flowers. We cut the lemon layer at the reception.

The Reception

We had lights and lanterns strung up over the reception area. We also had a lot of flowers and pictures of our Our first dance song was 'Forever' by Ben Harper. Everyone had a great time dancing at the wedding-the dance floor was packed! My dad and my husband's 14-year old brother were busting some moves! It was dark when we left the reception and friends and family lit extra long sparklers to see us off. bridals out on tables. My advice for brides planning their weddings would be to try and get everything done as soon as possible so you are able to get the different vendors and venues that you want. It also makes it a lot less stressful to have everything done sooner because there are so many things going on right before the wedding.

Advice for Other Couples

Isn't it just beautiful! I love their sweet tooth reception refreshments, and those bridal session shots are simply stunning.
