Word from the planner, Jeanet Lenore:

As a planner I'm always looking to present my brides with something different and unique, but also something that won't just be a trend for a few weeks and then fade away. The wedding might just be for one day, but the photos are forever, and the last thing a couple wants to see 10 years down the line is out-dated wedding photos. Therefore I believe in creating a wedding that is classical in approach, but executed in a fresh and different way. Luckily the trends are also currently veering in that direction; with interesting and clean cut tables leading the way.

Doing this styled shoot that was exactly my aim - creating a classical colonial Out of Africa theme, but without the big, loud over clichéd "Africa" consisting of leopard print, porcupine quills and hessian table runners. Monate Game Lodge was a perfect place to do this, as this modern lodge in the bushveld perfectly complimented our vision of a modern Africa with clean lines, beautiful design and understated colors. Colin Shandoss from Atomic Orchid was the perfect stylist to partner with, since he is the master of understated elegance and creating unique looks that can stand the test of time. For this shoot he used white washed kudu horns, fresh seed pods from a sisal tree, grey jungle moss and tree fungus imported from Germany, Tropi night Anthuriums from Natal, yellow Oncidium orchids from Thailand, and lastly dried lotus leaves from Shanghai to create a truly international table scape that seems completely at ease in the natural bush environment of Africa and reflects at once a worldly sophistication-African elegance and earthly baroque vision.

The stationary from Nazreen Rorke complimented this look perfectly. The very talented Werner Dey was an obvious choice when it came to choosing wedding dresses, because nobody can create breathtaking bridal magic like Werner. Choosing the bridesmaids dresses was just as easy as Gelique is certainly any bridesmaid's best friend! Up and coming make-up artist, Zandri Cloete, rounded off the looks perfectly with natural make up and dramatic lips - definitely a must have for any bridal party.

Lastly, picking a photographer that understands the artistry of wedding photos was the easiest decision of the day - there simply isn't anyone other than Louise Vorster.
