A wedding dress that combines Hollywood glam and Greek goddess chic, twenties hair and makeup and a stylish cape to close the deal on this fabulous look, which was only the opening shot of a wonderful 1920's - style wedding day and a cross continent love story.

Amy and Efraim met three years ago in Ethiopia while Amy was an intern at an international organization called CARE Ethiopia and Efraim was one of the organization's employees there. They immediately became friends and spent long hours together. During that time they fell in love.

Amy was born in the US and came to Israel nine years ago. Upon her return to Israel from Ethiopia, she and Efraim started dating and nine months later he came to Israel to be with her. Not long after, they decided to tie the knot.

Efraim already knew in Ethiopia that Amy was the one and only, but Amy truly felt that he was the one only after he followed her to Israel. She says that there is no other man more suitable for her in terms of character, spirituality, world view, and goals and aspirations.

They decided on a DIY wedding from the venue design to Amy's head piece, which she and Efraim sewed together. They wanted a roaring 1920's wedding style so the music was jazz and they asked their friends to dress up accordingly. To that theme, the couple combined both their cultures; Amy's American heritage was felt through the photogenic t groomsmen and bridesmaids tradition and Efraim's Ethiopian culture was felt through his family's traditional garments and Ethiopian music.

The couple's cultural combination was also felt through the music at the wedding reception, which was Ethiopian jazz, and the chuppah was held both in Hebrew and Amharic.

The most touching moment was the walk down the aisle; when the couple saw their loving family and friends and felt the intense energy they both started to cry with joy.

Amy's tip to future brides: With all the wedding preparations and arrangements, the important thing is the love you share. After all the time, money and energy you spend on your wedding day keep in mind -it just one day and it just the beginning of something much more significant.

This beautiful and unique wedding was captured by Jen Sladkov (one of the blog's recommended photographers) with a beautiful wedding album where it seems like each photo was taken from a magazine.

Amy and Efraim, you are an inspiring couple and we wish many years of happiness together.
