Former 'Bachelor' Stars Are Not Happy About The New 'Bachelorette' Format

After ABC announced that the upcoming season of "The Bachelorette" would feature two women fighting for the affection of 25 men, former "Bachelor" stars took to social media to voice their opinions on the new format. Host Chris Harrison revealed that "Bachelor" Season 19 contestants Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson would be the stars of Season 11 of the reality dating show during the "After the Final Rose" special on Monday night. And although Bristowe and Nilsson didn't seem overjoyed at the thought of sharing the small screen (and 25 men), "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" alumni were even more disheartened by the development.

Former "Bachelor" star Sean Lowe wrote a blog post about the change in plans, sharing his reasons why having two "Bachelorettes" is not the best idea.

"No one likes the idea. Catherine [Giudici, his wife] thinks it's disgusting," Lowe wrote. "One of these poor girls is going to suffer the same rejection she suffered the first go around. And -- get this -- on the first episode, the producers will give the guys the chance to choose which woman they'd like to have as 'The Bachelorette.' The other woman will be sent home on the first night. [...] Basically, the guys will be left to choose based on looks for the most part."

Lowe went on to say that the new format is "downright degrading for the women" and is just "a ratings ploy," and his fellow "Bachelor" contestants seem to agree:

Excuse me while I shake my head all night.

Not going to lie.. I'm a bit confused by 2 bachelorettes. Put girls against each other!? Don't we already get enough of that. #TeamKaitlyn

As a viewer I love the two bachelorettes but as a woman, I kind of hate it. What do you all think? I love @brittkarolina & @kaitlynbristowe

Ha! "It's not ideal" was the most honest comment of the night....!! #TheBachelorFinale #thetwist

The more I think about it, I can't help but be upset about ABC choosing 2 #Bachelorettes. It's going to be so hurtful to both the girls.
