The Love & Splendor Workshop - Part 1

The Love & Splendor Workshop - Part 1

via

We've been completely loving watching the rise of the wedding workshop. Attending one would be such a valuable learning experience for vendors trying to gain industry knowledge and to carve out their own piece of the wedding pie! And for brides, grooms + wedding lovers everywhere, the inspiration + eye candy these workshops produce is so much fun to see!

Today, we're sharing a peek at the Love & Splendor workshop - held at The Ace Hotel in downtown LA - which is sure to inspire couples who are planning a day with a timeless, fresh feel! Angel of L&S teamed up with Ryan Ray, who beautifully captured the setting she styled. Read on for lots of details about her inspiration + the other creatives involved, And check back in a bit, too, because we'll be sharing a 2nd part of the workshop and it has a totally different feel!

Angel says, I have always been enamored with the simple and lovely look of Delft pottery. I'm drawn to the fresh shades of blue and white, as well as the floral and pastoral scenes that frequently adorn traditional Delftware. For this part of the workshop, I wanted to give my attendees a peek at my design process, from inspiration to execution. I started with a vision of a modern Delft-inspired tabletop, juxtaposed against fluffy white blooms, verdant greenery and natural textures. Together with Carissa from JL Designs, we brought together a special table that balanced a classic European look with a modern twist. Vessels of acacia wood and collected vintage Delftware brimmed with monobotanical arrangements of textural white blooms.

Jeni from Found Vintage Rentals provided the perfect foundation with her blue vintage rug, farmhouse table, and mismatched wooden chairs. Casa de Perrin brought in their jaw-dropping Blue Fleur de Lis chargers and Blue Garden Collection china, which were simply made for a table like this. Their teak flatware and cut crystal glassware kept things light and clean. Linens from La Tavola Fine Linen in my favorite shade of blue also created an ideal match to the busy patterns found in the tabletop wares.

It feels like you are looking at a painting! So pretty, right?!

And the stunning, hand-painted cake by Sweet and Saucy Shop was a seriously perfect fit!

Stop back by in just a bit for Part 2, which features a 2nd location and rich berry-based palette!
