For her latest spring collection, designer Claire Pettibone turned to lace to create her perfect vintage country aesthetic. Inspired by Willa Cather's classic novel O Pioneers, Pettibone's collection saw models donning cow boy hats, boots and bolo ties, which brought to life the designer's rustic theme. Sleek silhouettes dominated the collection, giving gowns the perfect blend of simplicity and elegance. Keeping in tune with her heirloom-inspired motif, Pettibone fashioned her designs in a monochromatic colour scheme that saw dresses adorned with bandit black accents, including a stunning sheer black train and lace belt, which added a pop of drama to its white lace counterpart. Pettibone's use of black was also at the forefront of several designs. One short, sleek nude frock was draped with delicate black lace overlay while another gown, all in black lace, featured a plunging V-neck white and black lace veil. High collars, scalloped edges, sheer long sleeves and buttoned corsets also spoke to the collection's Western-chic inspiration, while crochet cotton and Chantilly lace gave gowns an exquisite airy feel, perfect for the prairie bride.
