The symbol of that special Italian country atmosphere, warm, welcoming and appealing is found in Tuscany or in nearby Umbria. These two Italian regions are surely the most well known country wedding destinations in Italy. They are located alongside each other in central Italy, and they are the cradle of Italian culture: Florence, Pisa, Siena, Lucca, the amazing Chianti hills and many medieval towns along white roads. Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Orvieto and Spoleto are all wonderful towns in Umbria with a magic countryside surrounding them.

Sunflowers, olive groves and mild temperatures for outdoor wedding receptions in villas, agriturismo or hamlets will let you feel relaxed and in perfect harmony with nature, tasting amazing food and great Chianti or Sangiovese wines. But there are many other solutions for a country wedding in Italy. Off the beaten track destinations that could make the difference.

Piemonte (Piedmont)

The Piemonte region for example, with its amazing Langhe, Roero and Monferrato areas - part of UNESCO Wold Heritage since 2013. The Piemonte (in English, Piedmont) region is located in north west Italy bordering France, Switzerland and the Italian Riviera. It could be a perfect destination for a Country Wedding. It is where the former Italian Royal family of Savoy used to live, where the nation was born back in 1800. In this region you will find Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore, winter destinations as Sestriere and Sauze d'Oulx, the Baroque city of Turin ( Torino) and the wonderful countryside in Langhe and Monferrato, close to Alba, Bra and Asti. Valpolicella

Moving east you can discover the Valpolicella region. It is located not far from Verona, Lake Garda and Venice. It is another land of wonderful wines, and the land of Italian Prosecco!
