Fun Relaxed Autumn Quirky Pub Wedding & a Pink Dress - Whimsical...

Fifi and James were married back on the 30th Nov 2014 at the The Adam and Eve pub in London. A quirky, fun and relaxed day ensued on a lovely Autumnal day.

I adore the pale pink and grey colour scheme, especially Fifi's pink lace dress and those pretty grey bridesmaid frocks. James donned a bow tie in a perfect candy hue, while there were Roses and Gyp aplenty. The lighting really made this wedding pop to life in the evening, with letter lights, fairy lights and sparklers outdoors.

Thanks so much today to Rebecca Douglas Photography for sharing her amazing imagery with us.

THE PROPOSAL | He proposed to me in New Zealand in the Sky Tower where he took me for viewing and surprised me with a meal up in the revolving restaurant on the top of the tower. I never suspected anything when he proposed me after the main course.

THE VISION | My vision for the day was for it to be relaxed and not too formal. We didn't want the day to be the same as other weddings. We didn't want a formal, sit down meal, we wanted it to be fun.

THE PLANNING PROCESS | We had about 18 months to plan the big day - we were very relaxed about it, but we did panic in the end for leaving too long!

BUDGET | In total, the day cost us roughly £14,000.

THE VENUE | The Adam and Eve, The Ridgeway, Mill Hill Village, London NW7 1RL.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | The dress was designed by Decobridal Lucy Brown, shoes from Ruby Shoo, earrings from Debenhams. I didn't want white or ivory, so I picked pale pink. The headband was from a bride shop in Brighton and the jacket was from Moonson.

FINDING THE DRESS | I went to numerous shops to look for the dress but couldn't find the one so ended up visiting Decobridal and had it designed (It was in late Aug/Sept so didn't have much time!).

GROOM'S ATTIRE | Jacket, waistcoat and shoes from Oscar Milo, an independent Italian shop in Spitalfield, London. Trousers from Next!

THE READINGS & MUSIC | My friend picked the music background as we both are deaf and music doesn't mean anything to us, so we asked our dear friend and interpreter for our wedding to pick list of music!

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | The grey dresses are from John Lewis and the two little girl's dresses are were from Monsoon. The headbands are from Debenhams. The two teenage girls are James' daughters, the older women are my twin sister and my childhood friend, the two little girls are my nieces.

THE FLOWERS | The Traditional Vintage Flower Company Ltd. My bridal bouquet, Memory Lane Rose with Gypsophila and foliage and Amnesia Rose, bridesmaids bouquets were Gypsophila. For the jam jars flowers, I asked my friend to buy bulk flowers from the wholesalers and she was able to decorate those on the day.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The wonderful Rebecca Douglas! We met her at the Bluewater wedding fair, we were very drawn to her wonderful display of photo books, typewriter and very friendly personality. We were able to ask her lot of questions and we loved how she took photos of the other weddings, very vintage style - that's what we wanted.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | The Adam and Eve was pleasantly decorated so there wasn't much to decorate. I am mad on fairy lights and bought loads of fairy lights and we added the bunting and pom-poms. I made the jam jars for the flowers and candles so that the guests could take them home as a favour gift. I got the pink typewriter where everyone can type their word of wisdom and marriage advice. We were unable to decorate the pub on the Saturday before because it was open to the public, I would not have had the time to go there on Sunday morning so the manager offered to decorate everything for us, we were very happy with what we saw. Oh one more thing, the big LOVE light signs, it was the first thing that we booked! Well, I booked in the first year of engagement!

Entertainment: We had a magician who gave a two hour show for the kids and another two hours mingling with the guests, a photo booth taken by the photographer herself and sparklers for the guests.

THE HONEYMOON | We went to Mexico, Playa Del Carmen straight after our wedding day the next day for two weeks. It was bliss!

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | We really enjoyed pulling the ales and serving our guests and of course saying our vows! Everything was perfect! Oh, me driving my friend's black Mini Cooper car to the wedding venue as I wanted to be different, the bridesmaids went in my uncle's black cab!

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | If you see small mistakes or things not looking how you wanted it to, keep it to yourself, don't broadcast it to your guests. No one will notice and most important of all - stand back and look around you.
