Keeping up with the Kardashians? Sure, why not. But it might be a bit more on point to say we're keeping up with the Jenners-especially now that we can share this life-changing nugget: your favorite red-carpet and real-life sisters are now designers. Yep, Kendall and Kylie Jenner created their first ever ready-to-wear collection with their favorite U.K. brand; the brand-new, just-launched KENDALL + KYLIE at Topshop is now live on Nordstrom.com and in selected stores. (Worth noting: it's only available at Nordstrom and Topshop.)

And in true Jenner style, they didn't just design the looks, they modeled them.

We were on set on the Santa Monica beach at a super-modern home with a pool and immediate oceanfront access with Kendall, Kylie, Topshop and the rest of the crew, and between wardrobe changes and technical tweaks, we talked to the style icons about, well, style icons, inspiration and adding the word designer to their profiles.

Check out our interview and behind-the-scenes pics here.

The Thread: How did you want this collection to look and feel?
Kendall: I think Topshop really wanted us to go for an L.A. vibe. Everyone knows our red-carpet style, but we wanted to make the collection more about street style.
Kylie: We wanted to bring L.A. style to London. Everyone sees us in dresses and heels, but we wanted this to reflect our personal and casual style.

How would you guys describe the L.A. vibe?
Kylie: You know, it's pretty much summer year-round here, so the L.A. style is super flowy and easy. It's all about the beach, the pool, going out to lunch.

What was it like working together on the collection?
Kylie: It's fun working with Kendall because there's someone to do all this fun stuff with, but also because now there are two different opinions in the line.

I think your super-fans will love going through the collection and thinking about your personal styles.
Kendall: Everyone has basically seen us grow up on TV. We've been on the show since we were nine, and even for us just seeing the old episodes and watching our style evolve-it's really interesting. We went from being kids who did not care at all what we were wearing to these people who eat, sleep and breathe fashion.
Kylie: Some people idolize Kendall's style and some people are obsessed with mine, and there are pieces that are more her or more me. There's a good mix.

Who are your fashion heroes?
Kendall: I'm always looking at whatRiccardo Tisci, Olivier Rousteing and Karl Lagerfeld are doing with their work. They're people I look up to, and I'm so fortunate that I get to work with them.

What about style icons?
Kendall: I love Audrey Hepburn, andKate Moss in the '90s was everything. I love the '90s.

It was kind of quiet on set-not that hearing the waves all day was a bad thing, but if you had been in charge of the soundtrack, what would we have listened to during today's photo shoot?
Kendall: Probably something hip-hop or rap. I can't listen to downer music when I'm in the zone, but there are always those moments when I'm just in the mood for Luther Vandross or something. When I was growing up, that was my mom's favorite artist. She always played him in the car.
Kylie: I love Future's new mixtape. That's what I'm into right now.
