Today's aesthetic: NYC cherry blossoms and a bride in pants

via

Something that really speaks to my personal aesthetic is a bride in pants. There's just this, mmm, thing about them that's so powerful-looking and sexy. And Melanie threw in a pair of leopard-print heels, which ALWAYS turns an outfit up to 11. I'm also digging the bright yellow nails. Not a shade you see every day on a bride, and I love it!

Melanie and Jalani said their vows under cherry blossom trees in New York City last year, specifically near the World's Fair Unisphere in Queens' Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The ceremony was kiiiiiiiiind of an elopement/not really - the couple kept all the details about the wedding under a strict need-to-know basis.

Keeping it between "us" and as low-key and hassle-free as possible is a testament of how we want to spend the rest of our lives together. -Melanie

Among the hidden details were a hand-fastening ceremony, a ring warming, and Melanie and Jalani jumped a broom created by Melanie's mom.
