Relaxed wedding at Chateau de Robernier South of France

via

Welcome to another wonderful week and we are starting off with a relaxed and beautiful wedding at Chateau de Robernier South of France, captured by Remi Dupac. Chateau de Robernier is such a fabulous setting for a wedding, with not just a stunning chateau, but it is also set in amongst such picturesque surroundings that provide a pretty backdrop.

Bride Nia takes us through their love story and big day: "We met over eight years ago in college in Dublin. Arthur proposed last March (2014) just before we went on a family skiing trip to Switzerland. We immediately knew that we wanted to get married abroad. We both loved the South of France and as soon as we saw Chateau de Robernier, we knew that it would be the perfect venue for our wedding. We were also drawn to the charming little village of Cotignac with all it's fun bars and fine restaurants, and knew that our guests would have great fun there for the weekend. "

"We are a very easy going couple so we wanted our wedding day to be a relaxed and fun occasion for all our closest friends and family. We wanted it to be a true reflection of who we are! We decided to have a relaxed ceremony in the grounds of the Chateau instead of the local church. Our guests were greeted with Gin and Tonics upon arrival at the ceremony and Nia walked down the aisle to a version of November Rain by Guns n' Roses. We had a two course dinner served outdoors in the Courtyard (Starter: Lobster Ratatouille, Main Course: Tournedos of Beef with Foie Gras "Rossini Way") followed by a buffet of desserts and cheeses later in the night. Guests then danced the night away into the early hours of the next morning. We had a few priorities for the day - good food, good wine, good music and of course a good photographer. Gaudefroy Receptions were fantastic, I would highly recommend them to any bride and groom getting married in the area. Our guests are still talking about the chocolate foie gras canapés and the Macaroon tower we had for dessert. The Mirabeau en Provence Wine was really delicious. Stephen from Mirabeau was so helpful, he delivered all the wine to the Chateau the day before the wedding and also lent us an empty wine barrel to use as a prop for our cigar bar. Our guests had great fun dancing away to the band 'Brightlights' until the early hours of the next morning. Rémi Dupac, our photographer, was brilliant. He made us feel so relaxed and truly captured all the special moments of the day! Nia's mother was our wedding planner! She put together all the décor and flower arrangements with the help of the local florist from Cotignac Village. The venue was so beautiful so we decided that we didn't need big elaborate floral arrangements. We opted for simple floral arrangements instead - baby's breath and pale pink peonies - along with lots of candles to create a lovely warm atmosphere. Our advice for any bride and groom - Don't get caught up on things that don't matter. You only get married once so relax, have fun and savour every moment of the day!"
