Party rocking & bizarre requests with Seattle wedding DJ, Music Masters

via

Music Masters is a family-owned, independent mobile DJ company based in - get this - Bainbridge Island, Washington. Yes, the hometown of our homegirl Ariel! Not only does Offbeat Bride share that connection with Music Masters, but they've also been one of our sponsors for a gajillion years (roughly), Lovesick Expo vendors for the last two years, and have played tons of wild, offbeat weddings.

In fact, Music Masters has DJed for two weddings that have been featured here on Offbeat Bride: this fairy forest handfasting on a farm and Mark and Liz's Northwest forest wedding that Ariel crashed.

John Wood, from Music Masters, was formerly a club DJ at underground electronic, '80s, and indie nights. He uses that experience now to organize and mix music so that it flows wedding-party-stye through the night. But don't worry, you get to pick your music, and every playlist is custom made. Weird, wild, totally off the beaten path tastes? Sweet! Or as John puts it, "We collaborate personally with every client to make sure that your music and lighting are, well, stuff you'll actually like! As proud Offbeat Bride vendors, we embrace every genre of music and love to party with people from all walks of life."

He was awesome! Using the songs we requested, he put together the perfect blend of songs for our wedding and got people moving. He even had some obscure songs that some of my guests requested. Also, he didn't complain with our bizarre requests (like having Andrew WK's cover of "Linda Linda" play while I was walking down the aisle.) I'd suggest him to anyone who's having a bit of an offbeat wedding... and even to those who aren't. -Linda and Carlos

John DJed our wedding and reception, and I can't even begin to say enough kind things about him... We went over to Bainbridge to meet with John and his wife, Lisa. It was well worth the trip because we ended up geeking out over music and vinyl while getting to know them. He played all the special tunes we requested, took requests from guests on the fly, and wasn't just a "fade one song in and fade another out" style DJ. We were raving about what a wonderful job he did days later. I would hire him again and again and again! - Melody and Tim

Hiring a DJ is one of the most difficult parts of party planning. Washingtonians, make it easy on yourself, take the hint from the Offbeat Brides before you, and book Music Masters to get your party started (and then continued all night long).
