Traditional Italian Wedding with Literary Decor

Traditional Italian Wedding with Literary Decor

Today we've got a really beautiful and unusual wedding to share with you lovelies.

Mary & Dominic's traditional Italian wedding, captured by White Rabbit Photography & Storytelling in an emotive, reportage style.

While we often share destination weddings in Italy on the blog, it's really special to finally feature one that's authentically Roman!

With the iconic Pope's summer residence at Castel Gandolfo, overlooking Lake Albano, as their backdrop, Mary & Dominic's celebration was quintessentially Italian.

Their took their theme from great Italian literature, with tables named after their favourite writers and poets. The day was laced with blooms, fruits, and olive branches (and we might have to borrow their hanging glass tealights!)

With a deeply intimate ceremony, a sweet reception, and the most stunning style (I love the idea of junior bridesmaids in veils and Mary's bridal look is so glamorous!) we think you'll be just as captivated by this traditional Italian wedding as we are.

Wedding Day Snapshot

Our Love Story

We met in our office, as soon we met each other, a great friendship was born, and after time it became a great love! Our wedding in three words? Poetic, Romantic, Rustic.

Our Wedding

Our wedding was a special day of celebration, in a rustic and romantic inspired style, with touches from different cultures and guests from all parts of the world. We celebrated our special day in Castel Gandolfo lake, a wonderful place in Latium, very famous for being the Pope's summer residence... a little paradise near Rome! Our ceremony was in the wonderful. St. Thomas of Villanova, a church designed by Bernini.

The Music

We had typical Italian music, 'Stornelli Romani", very popular and typical Roman song.

The Photography

We choose, as our official photographer, the artisan studio, White Rabbit Photography & Storytelling, because of their fresh and emotional style, and the storytelling approach.

The Venue

We chose Atelier sul Lago, because it's a wonderful venue, with a fantastic and a picturesque view on the lake.

The Theme

Our theme was Italian literature - books and decorations inspired to the most important writers and poets of Italy. It was rustic and romantic.

So lovely, and pretty different to a lot of the weddings we share - I just love getting to see different celebrations and photography styles from around the world, don't you?

Thanks so much to White Rabbit Photography & Storytelling and of course, Mary & Dominic for sharing their beautiful Italian wedding with us.

Be inspired by more Cultural + Destination Weddings from around the world.
