An Autumnal Copper Wedding Styled Shoot With a Bohemian Twist

An Autumnal Copper Wedding Styled Shoot With a Bohemian Twist

When Victoria Brown from Victoria Lily Events got in touch to see if we would be interested in featuring a copper inspired Autumnal shoot she had put together last year, I only had to take one look at the image above and the suppliers involved before I replied with a resounding yes. This sexy and decadent shoot is not only full of fabulous wedding inspiration but it is also a creative collective of ' genuinely amazing Sussex wedding suppliers. '

Inspired by her grandfather's copper pans from the 1950's, Vicki had a vision to create an accessible styled bridal shoot that infused a copper and verdigris colour palette with bohemian elegance......

The collaboration of genuinely amazing Sussex wedding suppliers resulted in a story which was elegant, timeless, modern and a little mismatched, without being so editorial that it was not unrealistic or unattainable to recreate.

With an incredible line up and a colour palette of rich copper, pewters, golds and browns, we couldn't have picked a better shoot to kick of autumn.

Vicki and Clare of Fitzgerald Photography talk us through the shoot.

Clare: I was contacted by Vicki from Victoria Lily Events and asked if I would be interested in photographing a styled wedding shoot based on inspiration taken from a copper pan hung in her Grandmothers estate; I immediately said yes! Especially as it was a chance to work alongside other fab creative Sussex wedding suppliers that I knew.

I love detail & texture so the opportunity to bring to life the style concept that we were collaborating on was something that I was very excited about. Our intention was to create something timeless, modern and elegant, without being too extraordinary, so that real couples could be inspired to recreate.

The venue of choice for our shoot was The Sussex Barn, in Hellingly, East Sussex, providing a perfect countryside setting with a rustic yet industrial backdrop.

Vicki: When we arrived on location in the morning at The Sussex Barn in Hellingly, we were faced with the typical British weather; huge heavy rainstorms which was interrupted with glorious sunshine! The Sussex Barn, which is a venue set on a working farm, provided some escape from the elements and some hidden gems to work with which Clare of FitzGerald Photographic captured just perfectly.

Clare: Vicki used items from her own theming hire collection to dress the barn, including soft delicate feathers combined with heavy copper to create a bold table design consisting of grey crockery, vintage glassware & props; creating an elegant but modern banquet feel.

Sylvia's Kitchen designed a stunning copper tiered cake that sat wonderfully within the themed décor of the barn.

Beautiful floral arrangements consisting of trailing amaranthus, hydrangeas and succulents, along with a wonderful flower crown were created by Lucy, The Florist on the Farm.

The Bijou Bridal Boutique provided a selection of gorgeous vintage wedding dresses and Holly Lindfield complimented the look with the hair & make up of our Bride.

It was great fun to be part of such a creative collective and hope we achieved the aim of providing some fabulous wedding inspiration.
