California Festival Wedding: Brit + Jeff - Part 1

California Festival Wedding: Brit + Jeff - Part 1

via

If you're having a hard time getting through the week, don't fret, because we have a pretty fun treat to share today! It's the beautiful, festival-inspired wedding of Daughters Of Simone founder, Brit, and her beau, Jeff...and we loved it so much we had to make it a photo-filled two part feature!

Brit + Jeff tied the knot in a remote meadow, reminiscent of one they discovered together on a camping trip a while ago. Brit says, We really wanted to be in the middle of nowhere. No buildings, no traffic. Just natural beauty, golden sunsets, and fresh air. We also wanted to sleep in the meadow all weekend long, and if we wanted to, party and dance all night long.

They worked with the amazing designers at PowWow, and together they filled the wilderness setting with bohemian details and some fun activities you can find at a music festival, like bow and arrow targets, arts + crafts, bocci ball, corn hole, and star gazing. We could totally ramble on about the details, but we know you're probably ready to jump right into the photos (and see the dresses!), all captured by Noa of Feather Love Photography, so let's check it out!

Brit says, I think the days of girls all wearing the same dress are coming to a big fat end, so I just said, 'Hey I have this fabric and this trim, you tell me - what do you want to wear?' From there we worked on the design together. Everyone has a different style. Some want something sexy, some want something beautiful, some want something more tom boy. If they don't like what they are wearing it will show. My advice is; let your girls be themselves. That's why you love them anyway. So we did that.

And on her gorgeous dress, Brit tells us, I've kept a "top secret" wedding folder on my desktop for the past couple of years. Don't judge me, I'm not crazy bride lady... you just never know, ok! And hey, I wanted to keep all my ideas together. When the time came to put pencil to paper or needle to thread, so to speak, it took a bottle of wine and did a lot of erasing. Slowly though a theme started to emerge.

For the ceremony, Brit + Jeff knew they wanted everyone seated in a circle around them (a sort of "circle of love":), so they experimented with creating an archway to stand under, but quickly realized that no matter how hard they tried, the arch was going to block their guest's views significantly. So, after a lot of Pinterest work and some brainstorming, they came up with the idea for a Swedish Maypole tent instead! This allowed for people to see them better and for everyone to feel included during the ceremony. It also provided epic views of the trees and mountains all around, so everyone felt connected to both the two of them and the outdoor space.

So fun, right?! We love how these two really went to the next level + made their day totally reflective of their life + love! The best news is that it's not over yet, so pop back by in just a bit to see part 2 (so many amazing reception details!!!) of this beautiful wedding!
