Wedding dresses get all the glory, but we all know the true star of any wedding is the cake. For your wedding this fall, we've brought together several delish cakes to help inspire your own autumnal confection selection.

Classic Leaves

It's a traditional decor detail for a reason-nothing says fall like orange and red leaves. We think this minimalist cake above is an elegant interpretation of this motif.

Caramel Everything

Forget pumpkin spice, the traditional flavor of fall is definitely caramel. Combine a naked spice cake with a generous application of ooey gooey caramel for a tasty fall treat!

Rustic Finish

Cakes that fall in between naked and iced have a rustic quality that is ideal for the relaxed vibe that often accompanies autumn weddings. The cake below also incorporates pretty jewel-toned flowers to fit the season.

Say It With Color

Speaking of jewel tones, fall colors are sometimes the easiest representation for your autumn theme. You can keep the rest of your cake simple and add garnet and ruby colored flowers with hints of blush and coral to accent. Now is also a great season to use the Pantone color of the year, marsala. With its rich wine hue, it blends in beautifully with many fall color palettes.

Add Some Glow

Break With Tradition

Sure, metallic accents have been big all year. But you'd be mistaken to think that you have to put away all that glimmers now that summer is over. Add a deep golden layer to give darker colors dimension (above, right) or to create a metallic masterpiece of rich texture (below).

Not a cake person? Fall is a great season to opt for a pie buffet instead. Offer your guests a selection of your favorite flavors of the season, such as apple, pecan, and pumpkin.

Or go a step further by presenting a tower of donuts alongside hot apple cider. It's an unbeatable combination that will be particularly welcome on a cool fall evening.
