How to Get the Most Perfect Rosy Cheeks

Pale, lifeless complexions are only trendy if you're a sexy vampire and you're name rhymes with Shmedward Tullen. Those of us with a pulse typically avoid the pasty look, preferring instead to capitalize on our natural, rosy coloring. In fact, rosy, pink cheeks are hotter than ever these days, as we observed on recent Fashion Week runways. To help you put your best flushed face forward, we enlisted the help of makeup pro Marygene Rose who showed us how to get the rosiest cheeks ever!

Step 1: Nothing against matte finishes, but radiant skin is the perfect companion to rosy cheeks. So, start off with a lightweight dewy foundation (like Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation) and add an illuminating concealer to the under-eye area to brighten up the eyes. Blend both formulas well.

Step 2: Grab a big, fluffy blush brush and apply a shimmery rose-pink blush (try Urban Decay Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush in Obsessed) along the cheekbone. Rose prefers a bigger blush brush as it allows for a more natural application. Blend the color out and upward toward the temple. Feel free to repeat if you want to build on the color, but, remember, it's important to keep the look natural and subtle.

Step 3: Apply a liquid or powder highlighter along the top of the cheekbone to add a little shimmery finish to your cheeks. Then apply some to your temples, nose and cupid's bow.
