Having your sister or close friend ask you to be part of her wedding day as a bridesmaid is byAnd whilst you will feel extremely flattered and special, we know that planning a hen do can feel quite overwhelming. Each bride is unique and has different expectations of her last weekend of being a bachelorette, so making sure you get this right is very important. Hen Heaven, UK's leading hen do organizers are here to help you and share some of our most important survival tips towards your hen do extravaganza.
far one of the most exciting proposals ever! Number one rule in organizing a hen party is that you must at ALL TIMES, consider the bride's wishes. Yes hen parties are all about fun, friendship and good times, but keep in mind that this is not your celebration, but hers. Being a bridesmaid comes with many responsibilities, and one of them is to be there for the bride and support her in all her needs, making sure she has the time of her life. Even if you want to keep all the hen party planning a secret and aim to surprise her, make sure that her reaction will be a pleasant one. Do some research before you start planning it and ask her what she wants and what she doesn't. Remember that you are her bridesmaid because she trusts you and knows that you know her well enough. So be a good friend and show her she made the right choice.

1. The Bride Gets What She Wants

Once you have established what the bride to be wants, it's time for your creative side to come out and play. Perhaps establish the theme of the event. Will it require attendees to dress up a certain way? Will it require props? Make a plan of how you want it to look and see what you need to make this happen. Creating a mood board can really help with inspiration and putting your ideas into reality. Be sure to do this in the beginning as it will be your guide along the way. Organizing any celebratory occasion is supposed to be fun, so be sure to play around with different colours and make it enjoyable. Whatever the theme may be, don't be afraid to think outside of the box.

2. Get Creative

Once you come up with theme and the location of course, you can start looking into the activities - and you'll have a lot of fun doing it. You have no idea how many exciting things you can get up to on a hen do, until you plan one. Some of them are very focused on the party/fun aspect and the activities may include nightclub guest list entry, cocktail making class, life drawing or maybe even a boat party cruise if you are in a hot, sunny location. Others will go for a more reserved and relaxing feel and this will include activities like a spa pamper session, wine or Champagne tasting and maybe even cheeky burlesque class, to spice things up. If you are looking for a more private accommodation, you can consider something like Hen Heaven's own exclusive Pamper House, located in Bournemouth. This is a seven bedroom house which has a stunning pamper room located on the first floor. Here you can all get together and have beauty treatments done such as mani-pedis, body massages, spray tanning and loads more. This one is a gem the bride will absolutely love.

3. Choose Some Activities

There are many reasons why a hen party is a special event, but a major one is that all of the bride's close friends will be attending. It is not uncommon that the bridesmaids have not yet met everybody in the group; each friend shares a unique set of memories with the bride. So as a bridesmaid, you'll need to be accessible to everyone. Choosing activities to please everybody in the group may be hard, especially if the average size of a group is usually about 12-15 (that's a lot of people to manage). To avoid any dramas, be sure you involve everybody. Discuss your plans with the whole group and find out if they have any ideas which may help. If you made your mood board, you can even share this with them. Create a private Facebook group or email thread which you can communicate through. At Hen Heaven, we have the Party Hub system which allows all members of the group to send and share messages to each other and their party planner. Whatever you do, just make sure you keep in close contact with the group and get them excited about the party.

4. Consider Everyone in the Group

Chances are you will choose quite a few different things to do for the hen night, but be sure to go for one that is the most unique, the biggest surprise for the bride, so it's a special treat. At Hen Heaven, we recently launched an exclusive package with Benefit Cosmetics, The Benefit Beauty and Bubble Package. It includes professional make-up sessions with Benefit Cosmetics, mini manis and faux blows, all whilst sipping on bubbles. At the end of the pampering session, everybody in the group will receive a goody bag and a voucher to spend in store. This is the kind of activity that almost every person in the group will be excited for and we have a feeling the bride will totally adore you for it. Oh, and don't forget to take lots of photos!

5. Make one of the activities the MAIN ONE
