Moody Fall Makeup Tutorial

Moody Fall Makeup Tutorial

via

Everyone has a dark side. As much as we love and appreciate bright, beautiful hues on our lips and eyes, sometimes a girl has to let herself get a little moody. OK, that doesn't mean you have to get sassy and snippy. Just do it with makeup! Embrace dark, deep hues with a moody look that is perfect for fall. To throw a little inspiration your way, we enlisted the help of makeup guru Marygene Rose to show us how to channel our inner goth goddess!

Step 1: Apply primer to the eyelids. Blend a shimmery, royal purple shadow (like Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Loose Powder Shadow in Potent Purple) on the lids, working it up to the brown bone. Using a flat shadow brush, apply a gold, shimmery eye shadow (like NYX Prismatic Pro Shadow in Liquid Gold) to the ball of the eye (the middle section). Then, blend a rich brown shadow just above the gold (sticking to the same middle region).

Step 2: Using an angled brush and black gel liner, draw a cat eye on the upper lash line. Line the lower lash line as well. Take your royal purple shadow and dust a soft line along the lower lash line, then line the waterline with white eyeliner to make eyes pop.

Step 3: For some added drama, apply false eyelashes. Use liquid liner or marker eyeliner to hide the lash seam and glue. Line the lips with a soft, pinkish-plum liner (like NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Prune) and fill lips in. Layer on a high-shine plum gloss (we love L'Oréal Paris Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain in Berry Persistant) and you're ready to roll!
