Wedding photography is one of the biggest investment couples tend to make in their wedding.

It's likely one of the few times you'll not only have professional photos taken of you, but you'll also be surrounded by your favourite people, and looking incredible too!

But for so many couples, after the initial excitement of receiving your pictures and perhaps sharing a few on social media, those priceless images end up living on a USB key somewhere in your home.

And that's a mighty shame!

There's something just so special and timeless about holding a real life photograph in your hand.

Many photographers supply their own beautiful albums (be sure to talk to them about the pricing of these before you book!) and of course you can always get your photos easily printed online or in a store.

But for some couples, you wedding photos call for something a little bit different.

From time to time, we come across some great products and services for your wedding pictures, and we think, 'That's such a cool idea'.

So we figured, as all the photos for the summer's weddings start to land in inboxes around the world, we'd share a few of our favourite ideas for how to make the most of them.

1. Tweed Wolf

Tweed Wolf was basically the service that inspired this whole post. Perhaps because it appeals to our inner procrastinators.

You know that feeling when you have a few hundred (or thousand) pictures on your hard drive, that you really must go through, but keep putting off? Well Tweed Wolf will do that for you.

Their in-house designers will sift through your albums, select the best pictures, and put them together in a beautiful, handcrafted album. So handy, right?

You get a chance to view it before they print, and change around anything you'd like, but we've been playing around with it, and so far, they seem pretty spot on with their choices and layout.

2. Polaroid Wedding

So remember how everyone used to have disposable cameras at their weddings (but the pictures always came out pretty rubbish)? Nowadays that's been replaced with wedding websites, social media, and photo sharing apps (you can read about our favourites here!).

And while it's pretty cool that you can literally crowd source your wedding photographs, it doesn't really cut down the task of sifting through them, selecting the best, and getting them printed.

Enter Polaroid Wedding, a service that's kind of the best of both. They hire out Polaroid 600 cameras to couples for their wedding.

Not only do they look cool, but they're hardy and easy to use. Polaroid Wedding will also include simple instructions and tips on a card attached to the wrist straps, so even the most novice photographers among your guests can use them.

Best of all, at the end of the night, you'll have a ready made album of fun, candid wedding snaps!

3. Artifact Uprising

Artifact Uprising create some of the most beautiful wedding albums, with some really innovative designs.

From soft photo books that make beautiful gifts for your family and friends, to epic flat albums that make the most of atmospheric wedding pictures, along with thank you cards, prints and calendars, this online store has so many gorgeous ideas for creating real keepsakes from your images.

You can create them all yourself, and customise the shapes, sizes and templates to your choosing.

Definitely one of the most cool and modern album sites we've come across.

4. Neve Albums

This is one for professional photographers, and those who appreciate real craftsmanship.

Another stand-out wedding album online store, Neve Albums takes a dreamy, fine art approach to creating heirloom photo albums.

Available exclusively to the professional artist and photographer community, you would need to order these through your photographer. Though if you're really eager for something truly special for your images, it might be worth the extra effort.

Their exquisite albums and print boxes are bound by master binders who check each page individually, ensuring a lifetime guarantee.

Bound in the finest linens and silks, the albums and boxes are minimal in style, with a real emphasis on the art of photography, highlighting one stunning print at a time.

5. Wedding Video Albums

Part wedding photo album, and part digital photo frame, Wedding Video Albums allows you to flick through your wedding pictures without ever turning a page.

While we like these as thank you gifts or keepsakes, our favourite use of these is actually for on your wedding day itself.

You can pop one on each table, and allow your guests to relive the highlights of your life together, from childhood snaps or early romance, to travel pics and engagement photos. A great talking point for your guests and a sweet way to share your love story.

6. Submit to a Blog

Okay, so this is a bit of a cheeky one, but we're all for a little shameless plugging around here!

If you do nothing else with your wedding photos, we think you should talk to your photographer about submitting your pictures to a blog.

After all the hard-work, expense, creativity, and time you put into your wedding, it's such a lovely thing to share with the world. Of course it's not for everyone, but as many of our real brides and grooms will tell you, there's something pretty thrilling about seeing your wedding on a site you visited to get inspiration for your own big day.

It's a chance to relive the memories of your day, and see it laid out in beautiful editorial form.

Different wedding blogs have different niches, so just because your favourite blog doesn't feature your wedding doesn't mean it isn't gorgeous. It just means the style of your photographer or your day isn't a good fit for them.

So, there you have it, lots of cool ideas for making the most of your wedding pictures.

It's definitely worth thinking about in the lead up to Christmas, (everyone will be asking to see your pictures), and it could be a gorgeous surprise for your other half or your parents too.

Don't forget to chat to your photographer about what they offer too, they might offer album packages that could save you lots of time and money. Be sure to ask how long they keep your images for after the wedding too, as you may want to take time to save-up for the perfect album.
