Fishtail Braid Bridal Hair For A Beach Inspiration Shoot At Camber...

via

A little lunchtime escapism for you all - courtesy of Terri at Summer Lily Studios and a fab team of suppliers. We love the simplicity of this shoot - just one (barginous high street) dress, one pretty table set up combining three of our favourite shades - duck egg blue, blush pink and rose gold - and one gorgeous hair style. Team RMW always swoon over plaits and these fishtail braids pinned up and peppered with dainty white flowers are just so pretty, and actually quite practical for a wedding on a gusty British beach.

We've always loved the light at Camber Sands and if you're feeling inspired by this shoot, why not revisit our I Believe In Mermaids editorial? I promise if you like today's images, you'll be pinning those ones too...

The Shoot

Terri the Photographer: I recently put together a styled shoot with a close group of photographers. We get together a few times to year to do styled shoots together and get creative. We headed off to Camber Sands where the beach is just gorgeous, who knew we had such great sandy beaches in the UK!? The idea behind the shoot was soft tones, blush and blue with a rustic beach backdrop. Giving a little sparkle to the shipwrecked wedding!

The Styling

Gemma from The White Emporium did the styling and wherever she could tried to keep it simplistic, less is more! It was important the styling didn't out do the beautiful beach setting, it needed to blend in effortlessly. We used a palette of rose gold and duck egg blue. Every wedding however needs a bit of bling so a wooden palette was covered with a rose gold sequin table runner and decorated with mini cactus and succulents in vintage glassware.

We set up a dreamy backdrop of a lace teepee decorated with peonies and a dream catcher. Who wouldn't want to get married under a lace teepee in such a stunning setting? This theme followed with the cake which was all white, with soft rose gold shells.

The Beauty

Tash from Updosbynatasha: As we were working on a beach I was limited for tools to use on the hair. The model's hair was quite textured anyway so I created a style which I knew would work well with her natural hair type. I started with two fishtail plaits beginning at the top of the hairline and finishing by wrapping them around each other at the back of her head. To keep in with the current trend the plaits were pulled to give them a thicker appearance and a few dainty flowers to break the style up a little bit. Towards the second half of the shoot I added a flower crown and used an ancient hair technique of sewing the hair into place to cover the wire on show.

Kate from Make Up by Mackenzie: Make up was kept soft and dewy with blush tones for a pop of colour on a sunkissed look. I always encourage my Brides to go for the best version of their natural self for their wedding day. These days the big thing is contouring...contouring is great when working on television or in editorial but your wedding day look should be all about authenticity.

Georgina was a naturally beautiful bride so creating a beachy look to enhance this was easy! I stuck with a soft shimmery cream shadow on the eye and lined with a dark granite liner which I then diffused with a dark mauve for soft definition around the eyes. Bronzer all over, pop of colour on the cheek, light highlighting on cheekbones and a soft pink lipstick with a nude gloss on the lip...stunning!

The Horse

Guinness the horse added that touch of style even more, if your bride getting married near the beach and loves horses, incorporate them in your day for some drop dead gorgeous shots and extra special photos.
