If you love colourful and fun weddings then stand by and prepare to be dazzled by Lucy and Ravi's totally tropical London wedding! Inspired by pineapples, flamingos, tropical flowers and all the colours of the rainbow, this is one wedding that I'm seriously excited to share with you today!

The wedding was held at Asylum Chapel in Peckham. "We've always had an interest in bright, bold and colourful culture", began the bride. "With Ravi's family hailing from Sri Lanka, and my background as a textile designer and art director, we really wanted to combine a taste of South Asia with a glorified kids party. Peckham is our home and we wanted to support the amazing local businesses in South-East London and celebrate the local people we love who do such amazing things."

"We also made the decision to split our wedding over two days", she continued. "The ceremony at Asylum was a day for our family and closest friends. We then threw a huge party in a pub the next day so that we could celebrate with our entire friendship group and not worry about upsetting any Nanas."

The bride's amazing PINEAPPLE INSPIRED outfit was custom made for her by Oh My Honey. "Our theme was 80s Tropicana! We are pretty tropical people and we were so lucky that our theme was in fashion this summer. We wanted to reflect the colour and vibrancy of Peckham, with a nod to our own tropical kitsch style. We littered the beautiful Asylum chapel with palm trees, spray painted pineapples, inflatable bananas, plastic flamingos, paper toucans and all the rest. There was never any doubt that it would be offensively colourful and slightly tacky."

"All the décor created and put together by me and my army of bridesmaids. The bunting made by Buy Rice Back, part of a charity called My Name is Kumar, which raises money for an orphanage in South India. The flowers were sourced from New Covent Garden Market and DIYed by the bridesmaids and my family. Our cake was made by my very talented aunt."

Amazingly, the couple pulled off the entire wedding for just £6000. "To suit our budget, a lot of elements were DIY", Lucy explained, "the majority of which can only be accredited to the creative talents of our wonderful friends. It resulted in a lot of strange projects, such as making banana shaped blackboards and spray-painting fruit for the tables, but it was worth it purely to achieve the unique vision that we had for the day. I even printed and designed Ravi's shirt which we had stitched by a local tailor."

"Although our budget was small and we were very careful about what we spent our money on, our biggest and most important spend was the catering. We were also super lucky to have We Heart Pictures capture our day. We love their style, and after meeting Charlie and Hector in person, we knew that they understood our vision and would capture this perfectly. The photos are better than we could have imagined. Aside from being completely beautiful, they really capture how the day felt and all the wonderful personalities that were there on the day. We couldn't be happier with them."
