Danielle and Eurice were married at the beautifully scenic, Lourensford Estate. The gorgeous couple were photographed by Matthew Carr. The two already enjoyed their engagement shoot with Matthew so on the big day Danielle and Eurice were at ease and had fun with it. Danielle shares the young lovebirds' story...

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

My parents owned a liquor store in Somerset West and I was in my third year studying in Wellington at the time. I went to visit my parents one weekend and my mom told me about this lovely sweet guy named Eurice. He had a small holiday job where he would braai boerewors rolls outside a butcher that was next to my parents shop. I went to buy a boerewors roll one day and he was wearing a Western Province shirt with orange crocs. It was very funny! After chatting a few times, he asked me if I wanted to go for coffee and then wine. We clicked from day one and that is how it all began.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

Eurice's sister asked me to go with her to a wine festival in Grabouw. Her boss was unable to go and gave her the tickets. It included romantic accommodation too. We arrived at the farm, had wine and then we headed to our accommodation. We had to go on a little boat to get there. The little house had a jetty and as we got closer I could see something was going on, but I couldn't see that far. As we got closer I saw Eurice standing with a bunch of roses on the jetty that was lit full of candles, a beautiful table was set and our favourite song was playing. He then went down on his knee & asked me to marry him

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Seeing all our friends from all over South Africa that we hadn't seen for years. It felt like it was not only a wedding but a reunion as well. The shoe game was so funny and so much fun and everyone enjoyed it.

Then Eurice surprising me when he sat in front and performed with his band and performed his own songs to me. That was very romantic and special.

Doing the romantic shoot with Matthew and Krystle as they always make it fun and the estate was so beautiful we got some beautiful shots!

I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day

"It was fun, romantic, beautiful and everything we wanted! "

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides

I am a teacher so teachers are usually quite organised. I planned my wedding from another province so at times it was hard, but luckily I had long holidays where I could fly down to Cape Town and work on all the wedding things. But one tip, is to tell brides to book and plan things long in advance otherwise you might get yourself into a little trouble if time runs out.

Relax on the day and enjoy the moment and take everything in.
