Cool & Eclectic Southwestern Elopement Inspiration

If there's one wedding style I'll always adore, it has to be eclectic.

There's something that's altogether romantic, timeless and effortlessly cool about assorting found ornaments, vintage furniture, elegant attire, and mixed textures together to create something that's somehow cohesive, beautiful, and entirely unique.

And today's shoot does just that, with gorgeous photography by Mandy Fierens Photography, styling and florals by Gold Dust Floral, it fuses an urban setting, with Southwestern decor, and modern boho style.

Scroll down to check out this unique shoot from some of the most cool and current Pittburgh wedding vendors, but first up the wonderful Mandy Fierens Photography shares the story of how this elopement inspiration came together...

From the Photographer

Pittsburgh is booming. Every time I turn my head there are amazing new vendors that I want to meet and work with! It truly is an exciting time in our city. When I met up with Janessa of Gold Dust Floral we new we had to make something special. She is a new florist who has a very specific and whimsy look that I was in love with. We started planning this shoot, and were lucky enough to meet with Found & Made to chat about rentals. They are also new to the scene and are seriously wonderful ladies. Not only did they have an amazing selection, they had a lovely space which we made our rain plan. Then there was Glitter and Grit, the stylish and best bridal boutique in Pittsburgh. Erin was all on board with lending us a dress, and this dress was what inspired Janessa to do the shoot in the first place. When the day of the shoot came it was supposed to thunderstorm all day long. SO we made the executive decision to shoot in Found & Made's warehouse. It was the perfect spot for this, and we are so happy we shot there! It was an amazing an successful day!

From the Stylist

Janessa of Gold Dust Floral shares the inspiration that sparked off the concept for the shoot.

My inspiration for this shoot started with the dress. I loved the sleek modern lines of the dress, especially the long sleeves. To compliment this I wanted to create a lush and large bouquet. The giant calla lilies first caught my eye and I added several varieties of tropical foliage, pink snapdragons and proteas for color and stock for scent. I love putting something fragrant in the bouquet so later when the bride smells that scent it brings back the memories of her wedding day.

That mix of florals is so different, I've never seen those blooms together in a bouquet before, isn't it gorgeous?

The Houghton dress is fab too, I love the idea of pairing it with a body harness, it makes it so much more current and fashion forward.

And I'm a little bit in love with that tablescape, the peacock chairs, with the bright peach and lush green hues is so unusual (definitely a combination to borrow for your own big day!).

Thanks so much to Mandy Fierens Photography, Gold Dust Floral and the rest of this talented team for sharing their eclectic elopement inspiration with us.
