Julia Roberts's Fresh Take on Glamour

Julia Roberts's Fresh Take on Glamour

The most intriguing aspect of Julia Roberts's look at last night's Glamour Women of the Year Awards-aside from that the 43-year old Lancôme ambassador appears to be aging backwards-is that she didn't take the typical glamazon approach to the red carpet moment. Instead, Julia and her longtime makeup artist Genevieve Herr went with an easygoing type of elegance that had just enough punch to be sultry without looking like she'd spent hours in the makeup chair. A fitting choice considering Julia picked up "The Class Act" award at the ceremony. (You just know that reference will be added to her ever-growing list of colloquial monikers: Pretty Woman, America's Sweetheart...) Genevieve-who used almost all products from Lancôme's L'Wren Scott holiday collection to create Julia's look-divulges the details of her polished makeup. EYES: For a less intense version of the smoky look, Genevieve swept the sheer gray shadow from the Ombre Absolue Quad in Les Gris L'Wren along the outer corners of Julia's lids and in the creases, then she used the palette's black shadow to softly line her eyes. She added a little pizazz with Hypnôse Drama Mascara in Le Noir L'Wren, a steely gray shade with a touch of shimmer, on her lashes. CHEEKS: A luminous natural pink color, Blush Subtil Powder Blush in Rose Romantique, created a wintery flush. LIPS: Genevieve chose a vibrant berry-colored gloss, L'Absolu Rouge Crème de Brillance in Le Rouge L'Wren, to help those famous lips standout against the actress's tumbling dark waves and clingy black L'Wren Scott dress.
