Jake and Lindsay first met while attending college in Fairview, Alberta. "He first asked me to go out with him at an '80's-themed event. I said yes and we made our way back to campus together in a snowstorm-Jake gallantly piggybacked me through it. After that night we were inseparable," Lindsay says.

For their wedding, the couple chose a Victorian, tea party theme with a unique colour palette of deep purple, cranberry and wine red. "Tea has always made me feel so at home and happy. Some of my most cherished memories with friends and family have been over tea, so it only made sense to incorporate it into our wedding décor," Lindsay explains.

While choosing a theme was a meaningful part of the wedding planning process, Lindsay says that the best part was picking out her gown. "I loved how I felt in it and how it looks. The details were gorgeous, from the feathers and lace to the sparkling brooch on the bodice," she says. To make her bridal look even more special, Lindsay incorporated a hair comb from her grandmother. " She could always make something small very special and it reminded me of her when I put it in my hair on my wedding day."

When it finally came time to walk down the aisle, the bride says that she was feeling a serious case of the butterflies. "As soon as I started walking and turned the corner to where I could see Jake, I knew I was going in the right direction toward a wonderful future with the man that held my heart."
