Elegant Country Engagement Photos - Polka Dot Bride

There is a gorgeous sense of style about Saranya & Meth's elegant country engagement photos captured by Lakshal Perera. The couple chose random spots in the Victorian countryside complete with golden light to celebrate this very special moment in their lives. Dotted between Woodend and Lauriston this gorgeous afternoon unfolded to make the most beautiful of memories.

On how they met, Saranya tells, "We were introduced by mutual friends. Our phone numbers were exchanged and we briefly messaged each other for two days before meeting up for brunch. Before our first meet up, we exchanged photos to identify each other. Meth had sent me his first, and my initial thought was that he's way out of my league. I decided to send a ridiculously bad photo (which was edited to look worse) of me to sabotage our meeting. It didn't work!!"

On what they love about one another, Saranya tells, "We love how we are brutally honest and unfiltered with each other. We place great importance in keeping each other happy and not taking each other for granted."

The proposal was very special, the bride to be remembering, "Meth had organised my sister to take me out for a manicure. After my manicure, he picked me up and we had lunch at Hutong Dumpling. We had a great day at the city just venturing around the gardens. Once we came home he wanted to speak to my parents. Noting the house was so quiet I went to look for them in the backyard. My parents were not there but what I did find was a beautifully laid out table for 2 surrounded by fairy lights, flowers and candles. I then realised he had set everything up whilst I was out with my sister. He brought over a present and I opened it to find a photo frame with our favourite goofy photo booth picture. He had written 'Will you marry me?" on top. I broke into tears and let out the happiest yes! He did try to get down on one knee but I stopped him. We stood as equals when he placed the ring on me. Meth had purchased all my favourite foods for that night! Roti change from Pappa Rich for dinner to dessert from Gelato Messina! It was truly magical and thoughtful!"

"We liked the simplicity and intimacy of the portraits. Lakshal has a unique eye and has an unconventional approach. Subtle emotions are captured so beautifully."
