Ethereal Rock 'N' Roll Backyard Wedding in Montana

Ethereal Rock 'N' Roll Backyard Wedding in Montana

via

It was a stormy, autumn day in Bozeman, Montana... The bride, Augusta, and her groom, Linus, headed to her aunt's spectacular property; golden yellow trees lined the hills, the fields were thick with dry grass. It all set the stage for one glamorous, edgy + rock 'n' roll-inspired day! And we mean rock 'n' roll - their wedding looked as if it could have come straight from the personal notebooks of Stevie Nicks! Staying true to who they are as a couple, they opted out of getting rings and had lightning bolts tattooed on their fingers instead.

The bride tells us Our aesthetic and overall inspiration revolved around a couple of words/concepts blended together into one big magical mess: whimsy, rock 'n' roll, and gothic fairy tale elements. I was inspired by the movies 'The Never Ending Story' and 'The Dark Crystal' - I wanted a really ethereal energy, and brought in a lot of antique decor, crystals, and a darker color scheme. But the most important inspiration was truly just our relationship; we wanted everything to feel really authentic to us - to our weirdness, to our love of rock 'n' roll, to our whimsical, adventurous lifestyle.

Let's get this show on the road and check out all the details captured by Jenn Emerling!

With the assistance of planner, Lauren Caselli, the bride ( Augusta Gail) designed the whole day, complete with crystals, dark + moody accents, and her two Chihuahuas!

Such a cool shot...

Here you can see the lightening bolt tattoo that A+L chose to get instead of traditional wedding rings! The artist of the tattoo is Jim Parchen of Rabble Rouser Tattoo.

Augusta shares Our bridal party wore black, paired with crystal crowns and crystal boutonnières. We wanted the whole day to feel like one ethereal + eclectic party, and it totally did!

Her stunning headpiece is by AMAROQ. And her dreamy makeup? It was done by Aurora Lady.

That dark + loose bouquet is by The Flower Hat.

Processional: God Only Knows by The Beach Boys; Bride - Something by The Beatles

First Dance: Still the One cover by The Maine

The entire day was a dream come true. From beginning to end, it was the most magical thing I've ever experienced. Our ceremony was so incredibly special. Reading our own vows was super emotional - just looking at my to-be husband, and looking out at all of my loved ones, filled me with so much joy. Walking down the aisle with my dad and getting ready before the wedding with my mum were also amazing moments - I'm so close to my family, and to share this emotional, momentous day with them was something I will never forget. And of course, the dance party was epic - I loved singing and dancing and literally rolling around on the dance floor with all of my best girlfriends.

Cheers to that!

Aurora Lady crafted all the pretty signage + handmade details.

Self-proclaimed coffee addicts, the couple had a pour over coffee bar at the reception!

To the best of your ability, create the day that you want! I think sometimes we get really caught up in what we think we should do, or what others expect us to do. Create a day that reflects you and your partner. Take the things that make you two unique and incorporate them into your wedding. Also! Allow yourself to get lost in the moment of getting married. Take some time after you say "I do" just to be with your partner - this is such a crazy, exciting, and wild moment, and I think it's really wonderful to have even just a few minutes together before heading to the reception.

Edgy, cool and super rock 'n' roll, right?! Congrats Augusta + Linus!
