The Intimacy of Love: A Bohemian Waterfall Wedding Elopement

The Intimacy of Love: A Bohemian Waterfall Wedding Elopement

via

We have such a beautiful elopement to share with you today, sent all the way from Minnesota and featuring the most stunning location, Gorton Greek Falls. If I ever renew my vows then eloping to a setting like this would most definitely be on the cards. The waterfall and the woodland setting is just magical and adds a wild romance to the gorgeous images as you are about to see.

Like the elopement we featured last week, today's is also a planned styled shoot although from the images you would think it was the real thing. Captured by Diana Albrecht Photography, the shoots aim was to showcase the moodier side of storytelling and to inspire couples looking to elope to find an intimate private location, without onlookers, that will truly allow for their connection to flourish.

Look out for the brides beautiful bohemian wedding dress by The Nature of Isa. We love the casual vibe it has and it works perfectly with the waterfall location.

Diana talks us through the shoot....

The Moodier Side Of Storytelling....

This styled elopement took place at Gorton Creek Falls outside of Portland, Oregon. Being from Minnesota, my style stands out a lot from the other photographers and photography trends in Minneapolis. I've always been gravitated towards a darker, moodier side of storytelling and wanted to bring that into this elopement. I've always wanted to shoot an elopement in the Pacific Northwest because of how well it resonates with me and my style: the organic feels, rich, moody colors, and serenity.

The Intimacy of Love....

I wanted to use a real couple for this styled shoot in order to convey the intimacy of love. Mollie and Michael have been dating for two years and are both photographers, so they understood the storytelling side of wedding photography. I even had them write "love letters" to each other in lieu of vows.

The hike to the falls was not an easy one, however, it was totally worth it to be completely isolated from the rest of the world. It allows the couple to be able to connect with one another and not be distracted from anything else. On one of the most important days of your life, no one wants to be battling with tourists or other people, so I'd strongly suggest finding an intimate location that will allow for the most genuine connection between your couple.
