If ever there was a wedding to really inspire you to do things your way, no matter what people think or say, then today's is it. It completely encapsulates everything we stand for at Festival Brides in terms of making your wedding all about you, no matter how quirky or unique your ideas may be.

Sent all the way from France by Rebecca Loutre of Les Récits de Becca, a brilliant wedding photographer based in Paris but who often travels to the UK to capture weddings, Lucas and Charlotte's farm inspired wedding is full of personal touches and quirky and unique details. They love the outdoors so chose a farm house to host their reception and used the farm as the inspiration for their wedding. From arriving at the venue on a tractor to having corn spread all over their tables as you would table confetti - this is a couple that took their wedding theme and had so much fun with it. Tables were named after animals, milk urns were filled with flowers and corn, farmers clothes were hung from washing lines to be used as fancy dress, potted plants were given as favours, hay bales were used as seating and wooden barrels were used at tables. Not everything was farm themed though - they had a cool tattoo station for guests to use, a hand made photo booth and gave out sparklers for their guests to light as they entered for their sit down meal - an idea we LOVE.

Chalotte and Lucas talk us through their amazing wedding day.

We met seven years ago while we were working together. At the beginning Lucas was for me a fun working colleague and I wasn't thinking about something else. But he was! And one night, at a crazy friends party, everything started... He was really good looking, kind, thoughtful and a really good rock and roll dancer. He was irresistible!!

Since then we've been inseparable. It's been a lot of happy moments with friends, many travels and then a baby, Zadig. This event welded us for ever. We love being his parents.

A casual Sunday night, he invited me in the living room saying 'I have got something for you.' We weren't speaking about wedding so far and seeing the size of the present I thought 'Great, some underwear!' When I open the small black leather pocket, I couldn't believe it. It wasn't underwear but an engagement ring. Of course I said yes straight away! We celebrated this around an Andouillette (a famous french meal) in a local brasserie down our place.

Marie Bedhet of La Belle Bobine made my wedding dress. I had my idea and she realized it. She's got great energy and is a really nice person. I loved so much my wedding dress that I bought my civil ceremony outfit there as well.

The reception venue was a family house in Artois, north of France. It is an old farm red and white which is the family cradle. This farm is full of childhood memories of several generations.

Because of the venue's location, the theme was obvious to us: a farmer's theme!!! Around us, tractors, cows, rabbits in hutches, bales of hay, wheelbarrows, milk jars, pallets and old pictures in their natural environments.

The decoration table: watering cans were table vases. Potatoes trays as bread buckets. All the tables had a different animal name and figurine which were here to help identify each one. Corn grain decorated all the place.

Every guest got a small potted plant as a gift with a label of kitchen gardening indicating our names and the date of the wedding.

Many flowers have been found in the fields and gardens around the farm. For the floral arrangement on the diner tables, I ordered a mix of different flowers so I could make myself the composition I wanted to.

It is difficult to say, there's so many. Seeing the happiness and emotion on our guest's faces. Seeing friends and family reunited and having fun together mad us really happy.

Our dance entrance to a long train running to the diner place has been a highlight moment for me. Everybody switched on sparklers, the place was electric, it was crazy. I didn't want to get down of my chair any more!! I feel a bit ridiculous now but I enjoyed this moment 100 percent.

We organized this part together. We prepared a play list music for the dancing part. They were two different part in the play list. The first one with a lot of rock n roll and seventies music for the beginning. And the second part was more contemporary music after 2AM. A perfect timing!

Don't hesitate to delegate task to people. They only wait for you to ask them to help with something!! And don't forget that you will probably be hangover the day after so don't plan to many things for this day.
