We asked them a few questions about their marquees, what they can offer for your wedding and that all important questions....what is their favourite festival!

Fancy Tentacles Ltd was established after many years trading on the festival circuit with our travelling shisha lounge and chillout cafe Smoky Tentacles. For years we had many admiring glances at the Moroccan tents we used to house our space, so we decided to take the next step and set up a dedicated Moroccan marquee hire company.

Our favorite UK festival is Beat-herder, which is set in the beautiful Ribble Valley in Lancashire. We have run our own stage there for six years, which is always great fun and gives us the chance to get some of the best up and coming musical talent in the country on stage in our tent. The creative talent of the Beat-herder team, who make all their scenery, sculptures and sets themselves, is second to none and always means that there is a new surprise around every corner!

Each of our marquees is made by our master marquee maker, an amazing craftsman and supplier of the top riads in and around Marrakech. Our tents are bespoke and all feature stunning linings, for which we select the most opulent fabrics available. Our aim is for each structure to exude a sense of the exotic and transport our clients into a vivid world of colour. Our tents form a spectacular backdrop for couples looking to achieve something really unique on their wedding day.

We have found our Shisha Lounges very popular with couples aiming to make their big day something memorable and different. We provide everything needed to make the marquees look amazing; from Moroccan lanterns, low tables, rugs and beanbags through to the Hookah pipes and a wide range of flavoured molasses tobacco, as well as a fully trained team to serve guests.

After travelling far and wide with our shisha lounge Smoky Tentacles, we are qualified shisha specialists and have thoroughly enjoyed helping to make each wedding we have been a part of unique.

We love getting to know couples and really understanding what they are looking to achieve. As a relatively small company we make the time to work closely with each individual couple to ensure that their dreams are realised. We have a fantastic creative team with a wide range of experience, so if there is something a client wants that they can't get off the shelf, we can often create things to order, such as personalised signage and props.

Our personal approach to customer service ensures that all the planning is in place so that when the big day comes there are no hiccups, leaving only space for an amazing and unforgettable day for everyone.

With over ten years on the festival circuit with our other business Smoky Tentacles, we have built up a wealth of knowledge, experience and contacts. We see creating festival weddings as an exciting opportunity for us to share what we have been doing for years, but on a more personal level, which we love! We have a great black book crammed full with industry contacts - from bands and sound technicians through to festival caterers and entertainers. We can help to source all of these components, with the knowledge of how to put them together to create a really special event.

Last year we worked with a couple in Norfolk to put together a beautiful festival wedding in a special tucked away location. We used two of our tents to create dining space that transformed into stage and dancing for the evening with a lovely buffet and bar just adjacent and were were lucky enough to be invited to stay the night! There was a lovely wooded area over a bridge for the ceremony, a field for camping and a firepit that really came into it's own as the night went on. Everything came together perfectly from the band and DJ's, through to the carnival atmosphere, it was a wonderful night that was great to be a part of and reminded us what we're in the business for.

Another event that sticks in the memory was a wedding reception with restricted access. We had to pass marquee poles through a restaurant window in order to access the back garden to set up one of our Shisha Lounges! It is always pleasing to plan the logistics for the trickier jobs and to overcome obstacles in order to create something really special.

Get to know who you are working with before making decisions, building a good relationship with a supplier you are confident with and can trust will make your wedding planning so much less stressful. As a supplier we want to be confident that we are reading off the same page as our clients, for us, the key to a successful day is getting to know each couple personally in advance.
