Jewelry Designer Love Tatum's Autumnal Equinox Wedding

Jewelry Designer Love Tatum's Autumnal Equinox Wedding

via

Today's wedding took place on the autumnal equinox - the day of the year which is equal parts light and dark. Inspired by this, Tatum + Nate crafted a white, black, blue, and gold color palette; even their guests were asked to wear white + navy blue (so fun!). A cute little cottage on the cliffs of La Jolla set the stage for the day. The duo invited Tatum's childhood best friend to be their officiant, and the ceremony started off with a yoga-inspired breathing, along with a ring warming practice. Since Tatum is a talented jewelry designer - Love Tatum - it's no surprise that she had quite the vision for the day; Urban Shindigs helped her bring it to fruition!

Tatum shares Nate is a landscape architect who promotes sustainability of low-water use plants in San Diego, so we wanted our ceremony backdrop to have the natural wild agave/succulent plants. I am a gemstone jewelry designer, so we had crystals scattered throughout the venue. I designed our constellation rings and had our cocktails named after gemstones! We even had our French bulldog, Dumpling, serve as our flower girl!

Let's see all the sweet details captured by Hannah Costello!

That view...

Our music choices were full of variety. We had steel drum players for cocktail hour, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Patsy Cline during dinner service and DJ Luis spinning Tropical House for the dance party!

The SWEETEST!!

You bet Love Tatum designed those rings!! Hers is a Yellow Gold Crown Point Grey Diamond Ring; his is a White Gold Brown Diamond Constellation Ring.

That stunning + sleek dress? It's the Sullivan by Sarah Seven from The Dress Theory San Diego. The groom is looking sharp in his suit from Nordstrom.

Colored smoke bombs + a French bulldog?! LOVE!

Tatum shares We DIYed a teepee made out of copper pipes for our escort table! We secured the top with nautical rope (so it was super affordable), and had our florist, MV Florals, add cascading ferns + draping palms to the top. We completed the look with chunky black crystals and used it again as our favor table!

Snake Oil crafted specialty cocktails, made from puréed local farm fruits. (That makes them healthy, right?!)

Marble + crystals galore!

SO PRETTY!! The white, black, dark green, + gold palette is such a tropical luxe combination.

Tatum shares My mother and I made the name cards! I purchased two black poster boards + created a diamond shaped piece to outline all of the diamond shapes onto the poster board. Then she painted each name, plus wrote in Chinese the beef or vegetarian option on the cards to pay homage to my Chinese roots. I loved the white and black combo, but above all, I loved spending that time with my mom and sharing that memory together!

HELLO geode cake!! This masterpiece is by Hey There, Cupcake!
