Makeup brushes hold the key to flawless makeup application in their hands, er, bristles. Which is why we often splurge on fancy brushes and are furious when they fall apart for no reason. We get it, and we have a simple solution to your problem. If your makeup brushes are looking a little rough and, two months in, start falling apart, the answer could possibly be found in your drying methods. Want to know how to protect your brushes from ruin? Read on!

Step 1. After cleansing your brushes, take a clean towel and squeeze it - gently - around the bristles to squeeze any excess water out of the brush.
Pick a flat surface with an edge (bathroom countertop, table, dresser, etc) and lay out a clean towel along the surface.
Lay brushes flat on the towel so the bristles are hanging over the edge. Many use the method of drying brushes in a cup. Don't do that! This causes the water to trickle down into the glue that hold the bristles and handle together. The water then loosens and ruins the glue and in turn kills your poor brush. Hanging them over the edge of a surface also allows the bristles to preserve their shape.
Allow a few hours for the brushes to dry completely before you use them.
