The Skinny Confidential's Dramatic + Gothic-Inspired Cabo Wedding

via

If you read The Skinny Confidential, you know that today's bride, Lauryn, is *obsessed* with contrast, and all things black + white. So it comes as no surprise that Michael's + her wedding incorporated a whole lot of that! Lauryn wanted to do something different, something dramatic, and a bit gothic-inspired. She shares If you're going to spend a ton of money, make it truly special and do it how you want! We threw all the rules out the window. We decided to have a four day celebration with our favorite people in our favorite place. The decision was simple: keep it simple.

Keeping in line with L+M's style, designer Esoteric Events focused on black + bold pieces, contrasted by accents of white, lots of tall dripping candles, and metal music! We stayed at the One & Only Palmilla in Cabo with 55 of our best friends & family. We kept it really small + intimate with the people who know us best. It was total mayhem in the best way. Lots of tequila. Lots of tacos. Lots of laughter. Lots of memories.

P.S. That first gothic-inspired shot is by Arielle Levy!

Arete Florals highlighted Lauryn's love of contrast with the use of black calla lilies paired with baby's breath.

OOH LA LOVE! Lauryn rocked an elegant metallic gold dress from Revolve for the rehearsal dinner (see more from the evening on The Skinny Confidential).

Our wedding invitations by Bliss & Bone truly set the tone of our wedding. We ended up mixing black snake skin invitations with a huge calla lily. There wascustom foil on the front with very simple details + a sultry font.

Those glamorous getting ready robes are from Cloud Hunter.

THAT DRESS!!

Can we just take a moment to admire this Vera Wang beauty (on a beauty) in all its glory? Oh and while we're at it, her effortlessly beautiful hair was crafted by Shawn Knudsen.

Like a dream!

We're crushing on Lauryn's seaside-inspired hairpiece by Eden Luxe Bridal.

Lauryn shares a little about the details: Black, dark, nothing bridal, black super tall feathers, metal music, black calla lilies mixed with the soft Baby's Breath (contrast!), a million black tall gothic (dripping) candles, personalized letters to our friends...and LOTS of tequila shots!

Take it one step at a time, it can be really overwhelming otherwise. I used a giant poster board to write down all of the details I wanted to include in the festivities. This included white water guns, ice pops for guests, and more. There was a different one for each event - from the bachelorette party, the bridal shower, the welcome party, the rehearsal dinner, the wedding day, and even the hangover brunch. This really allowed me to see my vision all the way through and see how each event progressed into the next.

All those dark + moody details!

There were SO many incredible moments during the wedding weekend. One of my favorites was after the wedding, when everyone ended up in the pool! And I mean EVERYONE - my dad, uncle, cousins, best friends, sisters, brothers, aunts; everyone. They were splashing around, laughing, screaming, and creating chaos in the best way. The resort even told us that this was the first time in 15 years that people got in the pool after a wedding. Go big or go home right?

Absolutely stunning! Congrats x 1000, Lauryn + Michael!!
