Wedding #150

This past weekend I was privileged to have done my 150th wedding. I honestly didn’t realize it had been so many. It was at a secluded beachside restaurant in Malibu, ceremony on the beach and the reception in a small banquet room across from the sand. Small and intimate and lovely. Got the perfect twilight colors. Super amazing bride & groom. Just makes me realize that it all started back in June of 2005, a friend from work had a friend getting married and I was a guy with “a big camera”. I said sure, I’ll give it a try. Bought a used Canon 20D and had 2 lenses. That lead to 2 other weddings, using a D200. That lasted 23 weddings and bought a D700 in 2009. That lasted about 93 weddings and then upgraded in May to the Nikon D4 with a bevy of 1.4 and 2.8 lenses, strobes and random accessories. I’ve been absolutely BLESSED to have worked with some amazing couples in amazing locations all over the world. I’ve been BLESSED to have no serious equipment malfunctions (even though this wedding I had a card go corrupt after they came back down the isle, but didn’t lose any photos, just used my other camera). I’ve been BLESSED in so many ways to have so many people say so many wonderful things about me and my work, I feel grateful every time I’m able to photograph one of these beautiful events. I’ve done about 20 weddings from people on Flickr or who referred me from Flickr. Best $25/year I could spend. So thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all your sincere comments and well wishes. I’ve been through a lot, but deep down I absolutely love being there to capture those intimate moments. I just hope that God keeps me healthy and in a financial position to continue to keep making people happy, one way or another. Thank you, Thank you.
