Guard The Rings!!!

One of the most challenging parts of photographing a wedding for me are the ring shots. Sure, when I started, I put the bride’s hand over her husband’s and shot the rings that way. And not that it’s wrong, but sometimes… the couple might want something a bit more creative. The hardest part for me is to ask them to remove their rings after they’ve only been on an hour or so. I feel like a homewrecker! But after I squeeze off a few shots, usually they see where I’m going with this. The wedding in Santa Barbara on Saturday didn’t leave me with many options. Their colors were black & white. Favorite team: USC Trojans. (blech) Didn’t have a favorite food. I shot the rings in flowers, and on the table, etc. it wasn’t until I saw some of the children with their toy soldiers that I was hoping to stick the rings on there. Worked out great. Sure I blinded that one dude, but he was just backup.
