Did you know that this snow covered gem of a castle was the inspiration behind Disney's Magic Kingdom Sleeping Beauty Castle? Located in Schwangau, Germany, the Neuschwanstein Castle was built by King Ludwig II in the 19th century. He was a big admirer of the world-renowned composer, Richard Wagner, and built it in his honor. Even the name, Neuschwanstein, is derived from one of Wagner's opera's characters.
