My very first loves in life were animals; first a rat, then a dog, a cat and finally horses. They taught me the most important lessons and were my greatest of friends. And now, our friends, both human and animal, are in grave danger in California. Watching the videos of horses being set free amidst the flames has my heart in pieces.
