I honestly didn’t know what to expect before landing on Easter Island. We’d read that 3 days would be enough, but we didn’t want to rush it and ending up spending a slow, relaxing week there just enjoying the island life and I’m so happy that we did (don’t always believe what other people say is the lesson learned here!). Standing small next to the many Moai statues dotted around Rapa Nui and contemplating the extraordinary cultural legacy of this truly spiritual place was an experience incomparable to any other. It may be one of the world’s most remote islands (and not the most cost effective to get to/from - that is certainly true) but the locals are welcoming, the food delicious, the beaches beautiful and the archeological sites some of the most mind blowing I have ever witnessed
