“Magical moments in Marrakech begin with a stay in a riad, which is a traditional Moroccan house or palace with an interior garden or courtyard. During the summer, Marrakech reaches desert-like temperatures, and the pink-walled buildings and narrow alleyways greatly amplify the heat. After a morning of exploring the souks and bringing home a few pom-pom baskets, relaxing by the riad pool was my activity of choice for cooling down. A riad stay may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s an experience so unique to this destination that I really can't recommend it highly enough!" (
