100 Layer Cake

We started this thing 10 years ago on a whim. Many people ask us about “the story” and it basically starts with a small idea to send out inspiration and resources into the world. We three came together in a fluid, unplanned sort of way. No business strategy nor plan, and somehow fell into a spot as a top online wedding destination, with readers all over the globe, featured in every bridal magazine, TV and an appearance on the Martha Stewart show. We like to think it was mostly luck, but we put our hearts into it. We made tons of mistakes, (and had a few smart ideas too), and figured out a lot of shit along the way. We learned from and inspired one another. And had lots (lots!) of heated debates. It was and still is a work in progress. We feel like we’ve honed our eyes for beauty, and are in constant search for the most spectacular idea to blow us away. We’ve seen weddings after weddings that have made us weep. Our perspective on love and humanity has grown to great depths. It’s been an honor to grow 100 Layer Cake for a decade. And who knows what the next 5-10 years has in store for us, but we know running this brand together has challenged us, pushed and taught us so incredibly much.
