Brides Up North

UPDATED GUIDANCE - #COVID19 We have updated our guidance relating to Coronavirus and your wedding day, as we understand documentation released by the Government on Monday 11th May 2020... • Guidance on the gov.co.uk website, updated as of 11th May 2020, states that with regard to whether weddings can go ahead: "There’s no change at this time. We understand the frustration couples planning a wedding must be feeling, so we have set out our intention to enable small wedding ceremonies from 1 June. As with all coronavirus restrictions on places of worship, venues and social distancing, we will look to ease them as soon as it is safe to do so”... • The "OUR PLAN TO REBUILD" document, also published on 11th May 2020 goes on to say: • In relation to Stage 2 (1st June onwards): "The Government is also examining how to enable people to gather in slightly larger groups to better facilitate small weddings”... • In relation to Stage 3: (at the earliest 4th July onwards): "The ambition at this step is to open at least some of the remaining businesses and premises that have been required to close, including personal care (such as hairdressers and beauty salons) hospitality (such as food service providers, pubs and accommodation), public places (such as places of worship) and leisure facilities (like cinemas). They should also meet the COVID-19 Secure guidelines. Some venues which are, by design, crowded and where it may prove difficult to enact distancing may still not be able to re-open safely at this point, or may be able to open safely only in part. Nevertheless the Government will wish to open as many businesses and public places as the data and information at the time allows”... • Based on OUR OWN understanding, it appears that 'small ceremonies' may be able to go ahead from 1st June, and at the very earliest venue based weddings 'may' be able to go ahead in July. However, it's very much worth bearing in mind that 'if' weddings are permitted, these will be likely to be with restricted numbers and/or social distancing measures in place. At this stage we simply do not know and much more further guidance is needed... • READ: bridesupnorth.com/2020/05/11/spread-love
