It was a special week for everybody in Australia this week, as we celebrated ANZAC Day. For our international visitors, I'll explain. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, and April 25 is the day each year that we celebrate our military veterans.

A little birdie will not have any part in the following proclamation. I am out and proud about the fact that... it's my birthday! It's not what you would call an important one. Last year I had a big party for my 30th, so 31 in terms of milestones is nothing on the surface.

First things first, we revealed how you can save around 250 hours in research while planning your red letter day. Tuesday was all about simple elegance in a real wedding in the Sunshine Coast hinterland . We also showed you how to draw inspiration from the iconic old hollywood starlets for your wedding day fashion and beauty.

We learnt a little something new this week from Sunshine Coast wedding industry veterans from Maleny Manor. Apparently, some brides forego the traditional bouquet toss for all the single ladies to scramble for in favour of another custom.

Blimey! Is it Sunday already? Hasn't time flown this week! If you're anything like me then I'm guessing that you've just popped onto the net for a quick surf whilst your roast dinner bubbles away in the oven.

Congratulations to the Sunshine Coast wedding industry - once again, very well represented in the Australian Bridal Industry Awards (ABIA) Queensland finals. These awards are based on ratings from real brides, who have experienced their fine service first hand.

It's my baby's birthday today! He is now eight years old. The first thing that means to me is that there is no more booster seat. I will miss it, if I'm honest. I have an attachment to it, which albeit may be unnatural, but I do.

This was a feature we used to put together YEARS ago. Like actual years. We stopped, then we started again, then we stopped.....and now we don't do anything at all on a weekend in terms of home page features. We decided that we might try something new (yet um...old) today and see what you thought.

This time last weekend, there was a gathering of vintage enthusiasts at the Adorned with Love Vintage Chic Wedding Fair in Gympie. An outrageous level of vintage pretty was all in one place, and vintage-inspired brides were in heaven as they strolled through, meeting such wedding industry professionals as Marion Jonkers Photography, who has shared with us some of her photos from the event.

Sometimes it just amazes me how much beauty I am exposed to day in and day out. I'd love to say this is because the reflection looking back at me is amazing, but as I have a young child and I work from home...

It's been a big week for The Bride's Tree team. We have been hanging out in mansions in the Sunshine Coast hinterland with our $5000 Big Day Out with your Besties winners. Now we want to be their best friends, too!

Strewth! It's Australia Day weekend! You know what that means - barbeques with forgotten sauce bottles, beach swims with zinced up noses, buckets of prawns and newspaper to wrap the stinky remains before trying to find any other bin to put them in but your own, and of course the only day of the year where everyone joins in for cricket at the park, no matter the skill level.

Last weekend my man cub and I threw caution to the wind, exited our lives in the most cheeky manner (two days of school and work respectively), and took to the open road. Our destination: Fraser Island.
