Bridal Hairstyle You Can Do On Yourself: Sideswept Braid

via

Warning, brides: A quick Internet search of "wedding hairstyles" will suck you into an envy-inducing black hole of perfect curls, cascading waves and how-in-the-world-did-she-do-that braids. Only a few of these styles, however, will work for anyone without Rapunzel-status locks. Appalled at this injustice, we called on makeup artist Tara Shakespeareto help us create a gorgeous wedding day 'do for our short-haired sisters. The result? A simple, beautiful and romantic braided hairstyle, you can easily recreate it on yourself, no matter the length of your hair. You can thank us by inviting us to your cake testing.

1. Spray your hair with a heat-protectant setting spray like Redken Hot Sets 22 Thermal Setting Mist . Wrap random sections of your hair around a curling iron, curling them away from your face.

2. Separate out a 1 1/2-inch section of hair at your crown.

3. Braid this section of hair. Give another spray of setting mist to smooth any flyaways.

4. Pin the braid in place with a bobby pin. Cover the pin with other curled strands.

Now go on - walk down the aisle knowing your hair is 100-percent Pinterest-worthy!
