Aleksandra and Shannon chose a rustic elegance style for their wedding day. They chose venues they fell head over heels with and had floral arrangements created that were unstructured, but beautifully elegant- just like their day. Their love story is one that is romantic and heartfelt and captured in all of it's glory by Sarah Tonkin Photography.

The newlyweds tell the story of how they came to be. "Aleksandra and Shannon met at a pub. It was Aleksandra's birthday and her best friend spotted Shannon in the crowd and thought he would be a good match for Aleksandra. She then went over to him and brought him back over to Aleksandra and said "happy birthday, here's your present" They have been together ever since."

Natural Art Flowers By Rebecca Grace created the floral arrangements for the day.

Aleksandra had a high neck wedding gown made by Galleria Couture.

Regal Limousines transported the bridal party.

The bride walked down the aisle to "Frankie Goes to Hollywood 'The Power of Love' sung by Howie the Maori on guitar...the words reflected what our idea of love and marriage is."

Aleksandra and Shannon were married in Marlee Pavilion in Kings Park Perth. They explain, "This is referred to as the Place of Reflection where love, friendship and trust are celebrated. Overlooking the Swan River, set in the WA Botanical Gardens, as soon as we visited the Pavilion we knew it was the perfect place to exchange our vows."

The couple made their ceremony more personal by changing their vows up, telling, "Our personalised vows in which we shared our love story and what we loved about one another, made our promises to each other and injected a little humour into. Guests commented that the vows were 'very us' and natural."

The bridesmaids wore floor length gowns by One Fell Swoop.

One of the highlights for the couple was their families coming together, the newlyweds remark, "The meeting for the first time of the groom's New Zealand and the bride's Polish families meant so much. There were a few family get togethers pre and post wedding which really brought home that marriage is the bringing together of two families as one. It was beautiful to see everyone getting along, laughing and enjoying themselves."

Of their photographer, Aleksandra and Shannon note, "Sarah Tonkin shot our wedding. We met at the First Comes Love Bridal Fair last year and then met up with her later to chat about our wedding plans with her over a glass of bubbles."

Aleksandra and Shannon chose Chapel Farm for their reception celebration, explaining, "We had searched Perth and its surrounds high and low and had nearly given up hope when Chapel Farm came along. It's exactly what we had been looking for - lots of green foliage, dark wooden accents, exposed brick and stone; a lovely and natural feel to it. Most importantly it felt welcoming and every time we visited it in the lead up to the wedding, we didn't want to leave!"

As part of Aleksandra's Polish background, guests downed a vodka shot!

The first dance was a highlight of the night, Aleksandra remembering, "We wanted a non traditional wedding dance that reflected our passion and energy so we danced the Argentinian Tango. The dance went off without a hitch and was one of the highlights of our night."

Congratulations Aleksandra and Shannon! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Sarah Tonkin Photography for sharing today's story with us!
