Here at MDC, we're all about taking new spins on an old favorite. Now, we all know that the usage of brown and black shades is pure perfection when it comes to the smoky eye, but how about kicking it up a notch and livening up the look with an electric pop of color. Everyone needs a little extra color in their lives, so why not rock it right on your pretty peepers? Take a gander at these two hot, hot, hot looks created by makeup pro Elyse Reneau, and get ready to let your true colors show!

Desert Sunset

(For this fierce and fiery look we're using the Urban Decay Electric Palette, which comes with a double-sided brush tool for convenient and pristine application.)

Step 1.
Use a flat shadow brush to sweep the palette's orange "Slowburn" shade over the entire eyelid. (You can also use the larger brush tool included in the palette.)

Step 2. With a small, square shadow brush (or the one included in the palette), blend the pink "Savage" shade into the outer sockets of the eyes. Using a slanted liner brush, apply a small amount of the same color to the outer corners of the lash line, winging out the color just a bit. Smudge the liner slightly for the smoked-out effect.
Step 3.
Use a slanted liner brush to apply the palette's "Urban" shade to the outer corners of the lash line, winging out the color just a bit. Smudge the liner slightly for the smoked-out effect.

Step 4: Using a clean blending brush, work the palette's "Urban" shade along the lower lash line. Swipe on a volumizing mascara in black like L'Oréal Voluminous Mascara in Blackest Black.

MDC Pro Tip: The shade "Jilted" works beautifully as a blush if you don't have a blush on hand!

Green Queen

Step 1. Using a flat shadow brush, generously brush Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Loose Powder Shadow in Never Fade Jade all over the lid and just above the crease.

Step 2. Blend Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Loose Powder Shadow in Brash Blue along the outer top lash line, winging out the color slightly. Blend the color into the middle of the lid, making sure there's a seamless transition of color.

Step 3. Work the blue shade along the outer corner of your lower lash line. Use a clean, small shadow brush to apply the green shade along the inner corner as well.

Step 4. Using the Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment Palette, lightly blend the yellow "Thrash" shade into the inner corners of your eye.

Step 5. Line eyes with a black or charcoal gel liner for a defined look. We recommend Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black.

Photography: Step 6. Finish off your electrifying look with a lengthening mascara like L'Oréal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara.
