Joshua & Stephanie's Bellwood Wedding - Wedding Friends

via

Kate van Onselen is sharing with us Joshua and Stephanie's Bellwood wedding. A stunning venue situated in the heart of the Midlands. Kate and Joshua has an interesting love story to share. Enjoy their special day with us!

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

It was the wedding of Jessica and Shaun Mostert on the 14th of May 2011 at The
Hatchery that brought Josh and I together. He was a friend of the bride and I was
invited by the groom's brother Russel, who was also a childhood friend.
The wedding took place over 2 days with the first evening being a relaxed braai.
It was here (Friday the 13th) that we first met and by met I mean had a heated
argument over football, something we both share a passion for.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

From the moment I met Josh he had a way with words which captured my heart
and so it was fittingly with a series of love letters that he proposed to me in our
home. As I opened the door to exit our bedroom at around 9am on Sunday the
24th of March 2013, at my feet lay the first note titled Chapter 1. A path of rose
petals lead me to Chapter 2 at the foot of the stairs, followed by Chapter 3 on the
door to the balcony.

Each chapter detailed a stage in our relationship, from meeting to long distance
to moving in together. As I opened the door there knelt Josh, tears in his
eyes."Chapter 4, will you marry me?"

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Towards the end of the night whilst talking to some of our guests, Josh walked up
to me and asked if he could steal his 'wife' for a few moments. He took me to the
side of the room and asked me to look out over the reception hall with him. He
then turned to me and said "This day has gone by so fast and so I want us to
consciously take some time to take a look around and really remember this
moment together. To know that we did this, we made this happen and that all of
these people that we love are here for us". It was a small gesture which took no
longer than 5 minutes but will be a moment that we will never forget and was
captured beautifully on our wedding DVD.

I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day

For us our wedding day allowed us to experience almost every kind of love
imaginable; the love of family from near and far, the love of friends old and new
and ultimately the love you share with the person you have chosen to commit
yourself to.

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides

Planning a wedding can be stressful and there may be times when you will
disagree, especially if the funding is coming out of your own pockets. Always
remember what the day is really about, the two of you joining in marriage. So if
you do find yourselves at each others throats over flowers or DJ's, take a deep
breath, say sorry, kiss and laugh at yourselves.

As the day itself can be quite fast paced and chaotic, I would also recommend
consciously taking a moment together to capture a mental screen shot of the day.
To be grateful and know that you are blessed to have the kind of love.
If you are going to splurge on anything make it on your Photographer and
Videographer. We were fortunate to be friends with a phenomenal photographer,
Kate van Onselen who also introduced us to James Gibbs studios who did an
equally stunning job with our wedding video.

Last piece of advice, be polite and appreciative to your future husband, family
and suppliers during this time. There is nothing more unattractive than a
Bridezilla.
