Welcome to Wednesday as we have an inspiring vintage luxury wedding in Paris to share with you today, from American Photographer living in Paris, Juliane Berry. Today's couple Abby and Derek, came from the U.S. to elope in Paris. Abby's mother and stepfather joined them for their intimate wedding and her stepfather performed the ceremony.

Avid readers of the blog will know Juliane's work, but she never ceases to amaze me with her new views of Paris and each wedding is like seeing Paris for the first time. If you are thinking of eloping to Paris or indeed anywhere in France, Abby and Derek's wedding provides wonderful inspiration how you can do this in style with luxury flair!

I also have to say that I am in LOVE with Abby's hair and make up as styled by James, this is my kind of style and it looks so chic and vintage.

The vow books were from BHLDN, which has the most amazing wedding accessories. I really just purchased items that I liked and didn't worry too much about a specific theme. That's part of the beauty of the elopement, there's a lot less pressure! I did have to consider what would be easy to travel with though. We originally thought we would perform the ceremony on the buttress side of Notre Dame, but then we discovered Place de Vosges near our flat. It had a beautiful symmetry and was a bit more green than the Notre Dame location. It also happened to be a lot more private! We made a last minute location change and it worked out perfectly. It was amazing from start to finish. Juliane Berry, our photographer, was an invaluable resource. She provided me a list of trusted vendors for all of the other services that we would need for the day. And everyone that she recommended was professional, timely, and courteous. They not only helped us achieve our dream wedding, but also added to the enjoyment of the day. For us, the elopement allowed us to focus on each other and celebrate our love in a more personal way. It turned out to be everything we imagined and MORE! My favorite memory of the day was walking up and seeing my fiancé overcome with emotion. He is not an emotional guy but his reaction to seeing me for the first time was pretty priceless. (There were tears.) His favorite memory of the day was at Odette's, because it was the first 'moment of pause' together. The engraved lock for the bridge was also fun for both of us. We went back to visit our lock each day before we left. It was also pretty special that my stepdad performed our ceremony. I didn't really over think any aspect of day, to be honest. I tend to have a slightly vintage style which worked well with the backdrop of the city. I am addicted to Pinterest, which is where I found the inspiration for my bouquet, and where I got the ideas for the confetti garland, and the cake topper (which were both purchased on etsy).

Bride Abby takes us through their big day: " We picked Paris because it's the most romantic city in the world! I had never been before and could only judge based on what I'd seen on TV and photographs. My fiancé had been, but only for a short visit. I was a bit afraid that it wouldn't live up to my expectations, like an overhyped movie. I was completely wrong about that, and I'm so glad. It was the most beautiful backdrop for our wedding and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the city and the Marias District where we stayed.

My dad's wedding ring was tied around the base of my bouquet. He passed away when I was just a baby, so it was very special that my mom surprised me with it when we arrived in Paris. The photo that captured it is one of my favorite s!"
